What is Clinical Pilates?
Clinical Pilates, first introduced in the 1920s by Joseph Pilates, is a well-practiced and established form of low impact exercise, designed to improve your strength, mobility, and flexibility. Clinical Pilates is particularly effective as it enables your physiotherapist to analyse your movement patterns, postures, functional activities and identify weaknesses that may be contributing to your pain or injury. Your physiotherapist will then use this information to create a Pilates based exercise program that is tailored to your individual needs.
Is Clinical Pilates appropriate for me?
Pilates is for absolutely everyone! Our physiotherapists excel at being able to identify your needs, limitations, and appropriate exercise prescription and advice. Clinical Pilates is appropriate for men and women, the young and old, and all levels of fitness. Clinical Pilates can be used with almost all conditions, from people recovering from injury or surgery, to those who suffer from chronic or persistent pain, to those who simply want to improve their physical strength and flexibility!
